Councils

Councils are the most direct way to be involved in cooperative decision making within the Confederation of Aboriginal and Métis Nde.

Councils are specialized autonomous groups dedicated to a specific subject or set of needs. Each council determines its own operating procedure however that council sees fit. The only requirement for council operation is that any council formed must allow any Confederation member (including Unseen) to join.

Any member of any registered group may register an official Taagi (third tier) Council. Unseen (since they have no group to vouch for them personally) may JOIN Taagi Councils but not REGISTER councils. Unseen may not serve as Council Speakers because they have no Clan to vouch for their character.

Every Taagi Council is encouraged (but not required) to nominate one of their members to sit on the Naki (second tier) Council and speak on their behalf. This does not have to be the same person at every Naki Council Fire, the council in question may decide for themselves how they choose their Speaker.

The Naki Council is made up of one Speaker to represent each Taagi Council. The Naki Council is free to nominate a Speaker to sit on the Lodge Council  and represent the interests of all Taagi Councils. This does not have to be a long term position and may be a different Speaker to sit at each Lodge Council fire. The Naki Council will not be enacted until the number of Taagi Councils becomes unmanageable.
