Confederation Councils

No official "government."

CAM Nde is comprised of a series of "Naht'ékéneí" or Clans (extended family groups), Bands (an official co-operation of two or more Naht'ékéneí/Clans), Tribes, Nations, and Councils (advisory/deliberative bodies of verified members). Each Naht'ékéneí/Band/Tribe/Nation/Council determines its own governance and organization based on its needs and goals. These various groups are in constant flux and work in co-operation with each other in order to accomplish the agreed upon goals for the Confederation. No one person or group is more valuable or important than any other.

This is the way of our ancestors and we strive to honor and uphold their vision while attempting to foster connectivity through modern technological advancement.

Government: About

(Chart coming soon) We use a tipi lodge to explain the structure of our councils, their purposes, and how they relate to each other.

- The Lodge Council Seats are the tipi poles; when working together they provide strength and stability. These Seats will be available for Speakers to represent the various Naki (secondary) Councils as well as the Naht'ékéneí (Clan) Speaker, the Band Speaker, the Tribe Speaker, and the Nation Speaker. In this way, all groups within the Confederation will be represented in cooperative decision making.

Government: About

- The Ambassadors, as the hide around the outside touches all of the poles, are involved with each of the Speakers who fill the Lodge Council Seats. This allows them to facilitate communication between the various member groups. Also like the tipi hide, they are tasked with the service of protecting the Nde from the climate outside of the nation and presenting our culture to the rest of the world. Each Clan/Band/Tribe/Nation will be asked to nominate an Ambassador to represent them and the Confederation as a whole.

In this way the Ambassador Council will be separate from and yet connected to every other part of CAM Nde

At times the Lodge Council may decide to nominate a Chairman to speak for the Confederation as a whole. This Chairman is merely a Speaker, just like any of the Speakers for any of the other councils. A Chairman is a temporary representative and is no more or less important than any other member of the entire Confederation.

Government: About

- The Lozen, named to honor Victorio's little sister who was a great Chiricahua warrior AND a Diyin (healer,) is a title reserved for particular person sent to be whatever the Nde need most. A Lozen must be flexible as the Tule which gives us Hoddentin. A Lozen is not a Speaker and does not fill a Seat on any Council but acts instead as an advisor to the Confederation as a whole.
