Many parts of the country are currently experiencing devastating weather, food shortages, and a whole host of other issues. It would be prudent for you (and your loved ones) to take some time to prepare for more difficult times to come.
FIRST OF ALL if you are currently in any of the states experiencing power outages due to winter storm Uri PLEASE TAKE YOUR ELECTRIC ACCOUNT OFF AUTOPAY IMMEDIATELY! You might find that your bill is suddenly astronomically high and you dont want them to take all of your money at once when they are perfectly capable of putting you on a payment plan instead.
SECONDLY do some research into taking your household off grid. This is an excellent example of what I mean. This generator can be built for less than your electric bill is probably going to cost you.
ALSO take some time to put together a "bug out bag" for each member of your household. Here is a good example video.
None of these things are difficult and even if you don't ever need them it certainly doesnt hurt to be prepared.
